Hi guys,
maybe you can help again ... A friend of mine is looking for a good helper/decoy to train her german shep (PSA, some personal protection eventually). Can someone help? Contacts?
Thanks!

Thanks again guys, think she sent a request to J. Katz yesterday.
That name doesn't really rings a bell Jim ... Those people are more into IPO, but I'm trying to direct them to PSA somewhat

Jo i think you'd have a handle on training things, with your experience! you'd probably just want to take things a little slower and be a bit more relaxed, if you're not training a competition dog anymore...
So right Jake!Combi of less spare time, my family incl 19yr old kiddo ;-), business, lack of good decoy for my kinda work recently, and so on...
Therefore also not sure yet of the breed (bandog, gsd, x mali, ...), training priorities/frequencey, .... so discussing, thinking about different options.
Useful replies till now!Thanks,

heard the dutch "mal" has had great dane, pit bull, and more commonly gsd in them. obviously not all lines.
Correct Peter, the largest part of knpv competing dogs are x mali or x dutchie.
Many many manygenerations ago they also crossed pits, danes too I've heard.
Check out the size of this mali ..

Remember, we're talking a family ppd, not a sport or service dog.
Yes, strictly family protection.
So imo should include : defend property (house, garden, shop), family members at home and also while walking the streets/in their car. Thinks that's pretty much it ...A great reply Brody! Thanks for your time. I agree with practically all of it, just having a difficult time with the a) rather late protection/agitation start b) training frequency.
Why? I always used to train my dogs for a lot more than originally needed (I love training and like to get a max outta every dog). Now, with my next dog, I'm gonna keep it strictly guard dog based if you wish ...Others?
